Marathon's walk behind portable infrared heater makes it easy to repair, renew or resurface asphalt. It will heat up and soften asphalt often to original mixing temperatures, to repair catch basins, alligator cracking, manholes and much more! This portable heater is a perfect portable patcher for small repair jobs!
Features
- Exclusive design features highly efficient infrared heat without using a fan or batteries.
- Equipped with six infrared burner tubes to repair & resurface bumps and depressions without burning the asphalt.
- Infrared burners can be divided into three individually controlled heat zones to minimize propane consumption.
- Burner output adjustable up to 360,000 BTU, with an adjustable propane regulator to control the temperature of the burners.
- Operates off a 30lb or 40lb propane tank. Tanks are secured by a 2” heavy duty nylon strap.
- Unit comes complete with igniting torch, propane hoses, regulator and propane bottle connector.(propane cylinder not included).
- All propane hoses, valves and regulators are C.S.A. approved

Above is an example of a small test patch of pavement that had dipped from a transport truck tire. Once all six infrared tubes were switched on (360,000 BTU), the asphalt was almost to original mixing temperature within 3-4 minutes and ready to be raked and tampered. (*heat up time may vary depending on ambient temperatures).
